What is Wire Fandango? More than just a jewelry class, Wire Fandango is a three day wire retreat and get-away experience. Enrollment is extremely limited to 12 students. You will work on three Intermediate level wire projects to expand your wire working skills and one introductory cold connect project to get you started on metalsmithing.
What Will the Projects Be?
Ancient Muse Necklace We will start Friday with Ancient Muse necklace. This is a wire wrapped collar with copper beads and a handmade dichroic centerpiece. This design was inspired by jewelry found in collections from the ancient Greeks and Romans. Its beauty is timeless.
Bru na Boinne Bracelet Saturday morning we will begin the Bru na Boinne Bracelet, a beautiful cuff bracelet made of copper wire and handmade dichroic cabochons. The cabochons are made in sets of three with varying colors, so you can suit your personality and attire. This is a project that will take up most of the day on Saturday. This will really extend your wire working skills. You will walk out with a fabulous piece you can be proud of.
Steampunk/Industrial Fusion Bracelet Bring the steampunk and industrial styles together in your own, one-of-a-kind bracelet. Rikki Mitman will teach you how to select, alter, and combine unusual components to create unique dangles for a sophisticated urban look. This piece is an attention-getter wherever you go-and no two are ever the same!
Fandango Earrings Sunday after lunch we will do these wonderful and fun wire wrap and chain Fandango Earrings. You will wrap a dichroic cab with copper wire and adorn them with copper chain for a little extra bling. (The example shown is made with silver--your kit will be copper to match the other projects at Wire Fandango.)

Who is Wire Fandango? First and foremost Wire Fandango is YOU. There are many bead retreats across the state and nation where you will find teaming masses of bead enthusiasts. Wire Fandango is more human scale where a small number of artists can collect, work on projects, talk about techniques and problems in our art. Like summer camp when you were a kid you will form close bonds with like-minded people.
Wire Fandango is the brainchild of Annette Kinslow who is a teacher with years of experience, a life-long artist and a proponent of the idea that the pursuit of art is the pursuit of personal power and confidence. Since she has earned a reputation of having classes that are almost parties, she decided to have a 3 day long class party. Annette will be teaching the three wire classes and the possible wire bead class.
Wire Fandango is also Rikki Mitman who is a life-long artist, has been making jewelry in one form or another for 30 years, is a glass bead maker, metal worker and mixed media artist.
